So yesterday I took the MCAT. No big deal. Probably didn't study as much for it as I would have liked to. Actually I know that I didn't. I had a summer full of classes (20 credits o chem and physics) and it was a race to finish courses so that I'd have the appropriate background for the test and so I could get applications out this month; all so this 34 year old hopefully will get into a school next fall. But enough of all of that, the reason that I share it with you is that I told myself that once I was done, I'd relax by having a few stretches of road to myself and a short trip. Here is the trip that I chose:
So this is the route. A little ambitious I know. I leave today. I by no means relinquish veto power to turn around, head somewhere else or abort completely. I do have friends that I am meeting/staying with in Kennewick, Salt Lake City, Denver, Austin, Phoenix [though she doesn't know that I may be dropping by ;)], Huntington Beach and Dublin, CA. Yes, I'm basically taking a trip around Nevada. Though to be fair, if I abort a leg of the trip, it'll most likely be from Denver and I'll head straight for SoCal from there, effectively hitting the southern corner of Nevada so it won't feel left out. And yes, it may be worth riding into Oklahoma, just to say I've put wheels to that state.
I'll try some posting along the road with my smartphone, get a few pictures in, as I'm looking forward to the scenery for sure. Hopefully none of them will scream, "HELP!"
So I know this is last minute. But if you're on the road, want to ride part with me, have some advice for any of the sections, or meet up for coffee and a butterhorn at your favorite hole in the wall dinner that I'd never had thought of checking out, please drop a line, add a comment, send an email.
Wishing you the best and ride safe!
Keith
