Welcome to my blog!

Here is my new blog. It's about me, my motorcycle and hopefully a few adventures on the road. You're welcome to comment, make suggestions, offer to meet up for coffee if I'm in your neck of the woods or tell me that I'm doing it (believe me, there's a lot of "it's") wrong.

My goal out of all of this? That the travel channel will find me charming, witty and like-able enough to lend me a crew so that I can ride my motorcycle around the world, experiencing various locations, cuisines and cultures, meeting people and making friends. And while I hold my breath on that one, I plan on enjoying the ride along the way.

A little about me? At the time of this posting I'm a single 34 year old, applying to medical school, and a part-time bartender at a popular Portland music venue. I have ridden motorcycles on and off for roughly 8 years. I enjoy good food, coffee, beer and whiskey - not with riding, of course. I love meeting and helping people and, obviously, travel.

I recently acquired a 2008 Suzuki dl 650 in Sacramento, CA, rode it up with a couple of friends to eastern Oregon then back to Portland. 1200 miles in a couple of days. One section was supposed to take about 10 hrs, which we thought we'd hammer through, but ended up taking almost 21 as we battled, livestock, small fuel tanks (not mine), a broken fuel vapor separator (mine), biblical proportions of insects, a sleet storm and a shooting in a small town to name a few obstacles. (pic below is my bike in between a couple of friends in Reno, early on with the big smiles, I'm manning the camera.)

Anyways, life is an adventure, and the best way through it is to smile, laugh at the irony and carry on - for better or worse.

Best wishes to you and whatever adventure you're on right now,

~Keith
